I was a patient of Dr. Ma’s for many years. She’s an excellent doctor; however, I became very tired of the RUDE staff who were very unhelpful AND tried to back bill me over $700 when I showed proof that they had been paid by the insurance. I owed them nothing, no further copay or coinsurance. Her own receptionist, Maria, recommended that I find another doctor! Her own staff seemed to sabotage her practice as I received a letter she was closing her practice. Funny that she is still showing as a current practitioner in Las Vegas when I’d been sent that letter. I tried numerous ways to contact her directly to inform her of her staff’s actions to no avail. I love this doc, but the actions of her office staff are completely inexcusable!

This is wurst experience ever. I called the office to made appointment. Victoria answered and asked me the details about me and asked if I ever been to any other doctor. I responded yes then she said that Dr. I responded yes that then she said that Dr. cannot cannot receive me. I ask why. She said insurance wouldn’t cover it. I informed her that I have brand new insurance and they will cover it 100% percent. She said no no you have to go to your previous doctor. I told her that my new insurance doesn’t cover that doctor then she said that I have to go to some other doctor that office don’t wanna receive me. I told her I have I have referrals and everything for that office. She said no matter they don’t wanna see me. I ask her for her name she said just name she she said I don’t need her last name because I wanna make complaint about this then she’ll for me to I spoke with her manager, I spoke with Maria the manager, then she change the story entirely. Maria said that office do not receive the patients who been to the other doctors not because of insurance, but because that’s their internal policy. I asked her how is that even possible. And I ask her why first time I get different information from Victoria. She said that Victoria it’s a new in the office, very new in the office and she don’t know. After more questions that Maria couldn’t give streight answer she hung up. This practice should be questioned, because they don’t follow basic medical roles. And would be ashamed that somebody put the Hippocrates oath and reject patience because they want to, not because they are over occupied. I will report this to higher instances and hopefully will change come.

Dr Ma is great she performed my first colonoscopy great experience overall. She explained what was going to happen prior to the procedure. Follow up was good she explained everything that is going on with me if I didn't understand she would explain in terms I understood. I recommend her. I've had a good experience overall with Dr Ma and her staff.

No issues with the doctor. I need my medical records sent to my primary and they make it very difficult. It's been 3 weeks of trying. Maria was extremely rude to me. I could not get a word in and she hung up on me. I was just trying to let her know my primary doctor got confirmation their request was successfully sent. Her tone changed when I mentioned a different GI Doctor. I normally do not leave negative reviews but if this was my practice I would want to know. First impressions are important and so are medical requests.

Have used Dr. Ma for a routine colonoscopy 5 years ago and again 3/2022. Her office staff during this years initial visit were polite, engaging and quite frankly a lot of fun. Dr. Ma during this pre-procedure visit was very engaging and energetic. She spent a lot of time discussing both the colonoscopy and my requested Endoscopy and it was a true joy engaging with her. The day of the procedure she was again engaging and a joy to be around The on duty nurses and anesthesiologist couldn't speak highly enough of her professionalism and personality. Today was the follow up visit after the procedure and again, the office staff was awesome as was Dr. Ma. She explained what was found and not found in detail and she takes her time with you as a patient. I truly enjoy having her as a doctor.

Dr. Ma was incompetent as well as totally lacking in empathy. First, she misdiagnosed me by missing the fistula tract that was the underlying cause of my infection. This caused me to have multiple surgeries that caused permanent damage. When I called her office to discuss my ongoing concerns, she would not talk to me directly. Instead, I could hear her asking the office staff to answer my question when she was right there! I could hear her in the back and forth with her staff. I would not go to this Dr. under any circumstance. Incompetent and lacking in compassionate care for patients.

When I gave my date of birth, I was placed on hold and told that they don't take Medicare plans. I stated that I was not on a Medicare plan. Then the office manager came on the phone and said, "This is going to sound bad but we don't take any one over the age of 64." So there you have it. Perhaps a gastroenterologist in private practice can discriminate based on age? Will have to research.

Dr. Ma is one of the best doctors I’ve seen. She is extremely thorough and answers all my questions. She explains things so they’re easy to understand. I feel like she really wants to help me. And her staff is awesome. The communication the office is excellent!
