We love Riccardo’s And have been going for many many years. This family run business is just amazing! Love the atmosphere and the fact that you can smell the aromas of the cooking. The Wait staff go out of their way to always make you feel welcome and very accommodating! The food is absolutely delicious and the best of anywhere I have been for Italian fair. The chicken Parmesan is by far the very best that I have ever had and I always get it with fettuccine Alfredo. Such a good combination. Had a glass of rosé wine, which went very well with the meal! Nice that a salad and rolls and butter and our own serving of salad dressing in a bottle was placed on the table. Thank you, Riccardo’s for continuing to provide us with a wonderful restaurant to go to on a regular basis!

Another update: Their beautiful patio overlooking the water is open for the season! Server Teri provided great, attentive, friendly service. We spoke with Chef Bob while he was busy stirring the homemade sauces and making their soup. The steaming pots of deliciousness emitted mouth watering aromas. Today’s house made arancini were again off the charts! And the veal scallopini was so amazing, I was tempted to lick my plate clean (I didn’t!!!). I had the fettuccini egg noodles smothered in the same mushroom cream sauce that’s used on the veal as my accompaniment. It was outstanding!!! 6 stars if I could!!

It was the delicious smells emanating from this place that attracted our attention while strolling through Amherstburg. We discovered this casual, unassuming restaurant with the open kitchen, which served up outstanding, delicious Italian fare! The rice balls were great, and wish they bottled their house made salad dressing! It was a toss up between which was better, the lunchtime veal scallopini or the veal parmigiana as both excellent and so reasonably priced. Really excited for their patio to open in the warmer weather as their water front location is beautiful. Worth the short drive along the River from Windsor! A definite do-over!

As Europeans and former caterers, for us food was pretty basic and overcharged. Service was very slow. For outdoors, they should have more stuff working during rush hours and long weekend. When asked for bill, server replied that she had it in her pocket ready, like she wanted to get rid of customers. Very disrespectful! Gratuity was included in the bill, no choice... we don't mind to pay it for good service. This time it wasn't deserved unfortunately. Good luck and management please hire more stuff!

The food is just average now. Changed since they move locations and then moved back to this spot. The garden salad with the Italian dressing was one of the best I had but now it's lacking flavor. Same with the chicken marsala. Use to have the marsala wine taste but now it doesnt even taste like they put any in. Our server was new this time and forgot to put my wife's order in. Unfortunate and probably won't be back. We've given it 3 tries since they moved back. Too many better places to eat at now.

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!!!
First of all they are very racist. Service is horrible, the staff is super rude. We were waiting outside for so long no one came to ask, I went inside then the waitress told me to go outside and wait again. After we sat down the table was moving too much i was worried that my son would spill the water so I asked to change to a different one then they change us to a long double table but it was the same problem so I didn’t want to bother them again so I moved one table to the side then we all sat at one table. The same rude lady came outside and yelled at my face that I wasn’t allowed to move the table, I told her that sorry I didn’t want to bother them that’s why I moved it myself, I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed but she still gave me the same attitude and said “I know, but you’re not allowed to move it that’s why the table stayed at where it was”. And she gave us a very dirty look then walked right inside. Even we’ve order the foods already and the kids were really hungry but we just got up and left because I couldn’t handle that horrible attitude. This is the only Italian restaurant that I’ve been to that has the most terrible service. I’ll make sure I’ll spread the word to all my family, friends and whoever I know about how rude the staff here to their customers and never ever recommend anyone to come here. There’s so many amazing Italian restaurants out there, don’t even waste your time to try here once and get disappointed.

The food was amazing! The service was a bit slow but it was super busy so that’s understandable! Definitely will eat here again!!

As I have always maintained, reviews are subjective.
Given we are all in a time of inflation and staff shortages perhaps that may have contributed to a 3 star review.
The restraunt itself must be a favorite for locals as it was almost at full capacity.
The outdoor seating was wonderful overlooking the river.
The buns as a previous reviewer noted did not seem or taste fresh and arrived with packaged butter.
The battered mushrooms were heavy on the coating with bland tasteless button mushrooms on the inside.
My partner commented that the dipping sauce was also bland.
Onto the buschetta lacking a nice touch of garlic flavor.
The side dinner salad was nothing more than iceberg lettuce with a few diced tomatoes.
On the other hand, the chicken barley soup was delicious .
My seafood trio had very nicely prepared grilled perch, basic tasting orange roughly and unfortunately 3 large bland prawns.
The pasta was OK.
My partner had veal marsala and meat lasagna.
He rated the marsala a 7 and lasagna a 6.
By the time we left Ricardos was packed.
Not sure what happened with our meals.

First time to Windsor and my partner insisted on coming to Riccardo'ss for dinner. This place did not disappoint. The food was fresh and delicious with very good portions. Service was very good as well. I look forward to coming back in the summer and sitting outside in their very nice patio area.
